Hi, my name is Toby Newell

I’m a California native, working in Visual FX for Film and Television over the last 20 years. Primarily as a compositor working remote for the past 15, I’ve taken on a variety of projects outside of my given profession. Utilizing my background in fine art illustration, and animation, has given me opportunities i never could have imagined starting out. It’s also allowed me to spend as much free time possible, with my friends and family on the central coast. Having trained, taught, and supervised throughout my career, any anecdotes or insight i offer here may help give a glimpse into what it takes to be a professional production artist. At the very least, they may provide you with some background behind the projects i’ve been lucky enough to do.
